I have been an artist for a very long time.  My first drawing was of ‘Slimer’ from Ghostbusters movie when I was five years old.  The background was drawn exactly as I saw it in three-dimentional space.  Most children draw objects on a flat, 2D plain.  My parents recognized that I had depth perception when I drew something so they enrolled me in a private art tutor in 1989, when I was 9 years old.  I continued learning there for the next three years using charcoal pencils, colored pensils, ink, and other media.  I had a real affinity for drawing my own home-made cartoons.

In high school I took every art class available: Intro to 2D Art I & II, Media Arts I & II, Drawing I & II, Painting I & II, Photography I & II, and Advanced Art I & II as well as being an active member of Art Guild.

In 2005 I began working for ‘CollegePro Painters’ as a painter and the following year was promoted to Job Site Manager and continued that position until 2008 when the Franchise Manager and I joined a friend’s company in Chicago called ‘Redline Painting’.  I maintained my title as Job Site Manager until 2010 when I commenced ‘Room By Room’ full time.

I started my own painting company in February 2006 ‘Robert’s Room By Room’, specializing in murals, portraits, faux finishes, exterior and interior painting.  In November 2006 I began teaching classes at Michaels Arts & Crafts Store in Oswego Illinois.  I taught Drawing I & II and Painting I & II.

To this day I’ve painted over 250 exterior houses and businesses, I’ve painted murals in homes and schools, I’ve painted at Churches and restaurants, and even painted the Governor of Illinois campaign office.   Here’s a quicklist:
